A ritual bath transcends the “mundane” bath because it is more than simply cleansing the body for good hygiene. A ritual bath connects to something bigger. For some, it connects bathing to the Divine through blessings, prayer, devotion, or meditation. For others, it connects to a holistic lifestyle by employing the benefits of natural salt and plant essential oils to their body, or by providing a “time out” to reduce emotional and bodily stress.

Helping people find more inner peace
Born out of one woman’s journey toward wellness through ritual bathing, Gina Payne created Bathtisma, a lifestyle brand committed to helping people find more inner peace.
Plagued by a lifetime of chronic anxiety and depression, Gina began a personal meditation practice to manage her afflictions and the stress and pressures of her corporate job.
Her Bathtism™ unfolded as she brought her meditation practice to the water, creating her own personal sanctuary in her bathtub, where she could retreat from the demands of the world, let the hot water steal away her physical aches and pains, and wash away her mental anxiety and emotional stress.
She began to experience a transformation taking place right in her tub. Emerging from her bath, she felt relaxed, recharged, and regenerated.
Wanting to share this experience with others, she created a line of five essential oil bath soak blends, each formulated with intention to bring physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of natural salt and plant essential oils to your self-care or meditation practice.

An organization with a mission that is personal to Gina, the Anxiety and Depression and Depression Association of America (ADAA) works to prevent, treat, and cure anxiety disorders and depression.
In 2022, Gina announced her commitment to financially support the ADAA through donating a portion of Bathtism’s profits to further the ADAA’s mission to #breakthestigma around surrounding anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders.
Compelled to share her own personal story, in Ending the Silence of Quiet Suffering Gina’s vulnerability comes through as she tells a story of how anxiety and depression can rear its ugly head, even when you appear to “have it all”, and how she got the help she needed in a time of extreme need.

Bathtisma is joining the fight against Cancer by offering products like “Pestemals with Purpose”. The pestemals offered in our Ritual Shop are sourced from Bosom Boutiques, a unique shop founded by Kelly Vitt, a breast Cancer Survivor who wanted to give more comfort to Cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Bosom Boutiques pays it forward. For every Turkish cotton pestemal purchased for the Bathtisma shop, a portion of sales goes to breast cancer patients.
